My City Farmer Chick

Well the story about the City Farmer Chick goes a little something like this.
I met her as a teenager and before I knew it, I think I was in love!
'I think' turned into 'I am' and 'I am' turned into 'I do'.
After the 'I do' we settled in a cosy cottage in Point Cook, on the outskirts of Melbourne.
Two years later, my City Chick gave birth to our first child Zach. (pinch myself right?)
A year and a half later, we were pregnant again.
Now this is where it gets interesting.
One month into the pregnancy of our second child, I had a brain wave. Fancy hearing this from your hubby, whilst being pregnant with major morning sickness and a one and a half year old hanging off your leg.
' Hey honey, how about we buy a run down farm, do a complete renovation and move our family to the country? Oh and live with my parents, whilst we complete the year long renovation?'
Well believe it or not KB warmed to the idea and before we new it, we sold up and moved our clan to the country.
At first KB was still very much a city chick living in the country, she enjoyed packing the kids into the car and exploring all the lovely country towns, sipping lattes and shopping in the boutique shoppes, country Victoria has to offer. I would come home from work and she'd say 'guess where I went today.'
Well now with our third child, packing the kids into the car and exploring is a little harder to do, however she still attempts to do it once in a while!
Now you might be asking why the 'City Farmer Chick' heading?
Well, KB has earned the City Farmer Chick title, because she has replaced 'guess where I went today' with 'guess what I did today'.
KB not only looks after our three beautiful children, she also finds the time to:
Feed the animals,
Collect and sort the chicken eggs.
Sort out the evening firewood
Gather veggies for our dinners.
Have dinner ready, for when I get home
Herd our strayed cattle back into our paddocks
Assist in several animal births(not shying away from getting her hands dirty!)
And the Summer just gone, she developed the enjoyment of mowing the lawns!
Oh and I must not forget, has developed the love of baking!
Now if this list doesn't warrant 'Farmer Chick', nothing does!

Well, now that I think about it, maybe the heading should read 'My Wonder Women' because that what she is. Actually she's more than that, she is my beautiful wife and a wonderful mother, and I can never thank her enough for what she does for our lovely little family.

With a chore list like hers, it's no wonder she keeps the Panadol on the bedside table!
