I knew women like men in uniform, however there surely has to be some sort of line that isn't crossed to get your MEN IN UNIFORM fix....
The story goes like this.
Grand Final Eve around 5.30 pm, Farmerot Danny is out fishing down Jubilee Lake. He gets a phone call from a panicked KB, smoke alarms going off in the background.
KB: Danny Danny, there is smoke coming out of the down lights and I'm not even cooking anything!
Famerot: Get the kids out of the house and call 000.
KB: OK.
Famerot Rushes home in record time, even passing the CFA chief at the Fire Station, Luckily to the relief of the famerot he came home and everything seem fine. No Flames, No Smoke and No Sounding Alarms.
Not one but two CFA trucks arrive, one made it up our drive way and the other managed to get bogged, the young volunteer managed to slip off our driveway and into the ditch, that's right, into the ditch. His left hand tyres were well and truly bogged, more than half his tyres were under mud and the truck was leaning on a very acute angle, luckily he did roll.
The Firemen jumped out of their bogged truck and came up to the house to investigate the cause of the alarm, up they jumped into the roof to investigate. There were no signs of any fire and everything look A OK. The Chief put it down to moisture in the air which may have caused the down lights to start steaming, which caused smoke like air, which cause the smoke alarms to sound, which lead to the CFA being called out.....
We were relieved that everything was fine and that it was a false alarm.
As for the bogged truck, the CFA needed to wait for the rescue truck to arrive and pull them out... They managed to get the truck out about an hour later.
Famerot managed to find a spare slab of beer which he shared with the CFA boys, a little thank you for their help....
As for the mystery of what happened, well maybe it was KB wanting to see some men in uniform, however she didn't realise that our CFA volunteers aren't as buffed as she imagined.
